Gavin's 1st Day of School

Today Gavin had his first day of school! He was so happy last night as we laid him down for bed because he knew he was going to school in the morning. We talked about how he would see Mrs. Siverd again and meet new friends. When he woke up this morning, he was in such a good mood! It made the morning go a lot more smoothly :) .... little did he know I was not going to stay with him like we did last week when we met his teachers. As we were driving to school, I told him that I needed to go to the store while he was at school and that I would be right back to pick him up. He asked me if I was going to the store to get him juice. I told him, of course, and that mommy will be right back. It worked out perfectly! We had the best conversation on the way. He told me that he would play with the trucks and color with Mrs. Siverd. It was the cutest thing ever! When we got to school he walked into his classroom all by himself, put his backpack away, went up to his teacher to tell her he's going to play with the trucks and then went on to wash his hands before playing. I told him goodbye and it didn't even phase him! He is getting to be such a big boy! When I picked him up from school at noon, he told me he has 2 teachers and 2 new friends. That made my day! I'm so proud of him!

This was after I picked him up. He had a great day!

Look at that face! I think he was tired of me taking pictures, haha!

Matt and Alex came in town!

This weekend Matt and Alex came in town to visit. We had such a fun time with them! I wish they were still here but they left today to spend the week at Panama City Beach at my Aunt and Uncle's condo. How nice!
They got to our house on Friday and we met Andrew after work in New Orleans at Drago's Restaurant for an amazing dinner and charbroiled oysters...our favorite! After dinner we walked around the French Quarter. Alex had never been to New Orleans before so we had to give him a tour.

Uncle Matt and  Gavin

Gavin was carrying around a bag of goldfish hoping to feed the birdies.

Saturday I had to work a 12 hour shift but when I got off Natalie came over to babysit while we all went to Rookie's Sports Bar to watch the Saint's game! Even though it wasn't a very exciting game, we still had a great time. We got there around 8 and there was a pretty large crowd. As we went to order some food our waitress said they were completely out of everything except hamburgers. I mean EVERYTHING and ANYTHING on the menu. How is that possible?? I was so mad because I had worked all day so I was looking to get some good BBQ... since that's what they're known for... but instead I had to get a BBQ hamburger. I don't even like hamburgers (haha)! Oh well. Fun night though! We had to be back not too late to take the babysitter home so we ended up playing cards all night. I whooped them all in UNO and spoons!

Children's Museum - Hammond

One weekend we decided to take Gavin to the Children's Museum in Hammond. We knew nothing about it but saw an Advertisement for it in a local magazine. Gavin loved it! There is also a Children's Museum in New Orleans that we cannot wait to take him to.

Reception

The Reception at our wedding was the most fun Andrew and I have ever had! We had such a great time with all of our closest family and friends! We came into the ballroom with a New Orleans theme to the second line where all of our guests joined in! Our parents and my Grandma and Grandpa came into the ballroom to the song, "When the Saints Go Marching In". The bridesmaids and groomsmen came into the ballroom dancing to the song "Stand Up and Get Crunk" which is also the Saints football team theme song. The night ended with a carriage ride around downtown Louisville! We would like to thank our siblings for surprising us with that...what a special way to end the night. Here are some pictures from the reception.  I couldn't help but post this many pictures...they're all so good! Enjoy!
