Louisiana Children's Museum

I decided to keep Gavin home from school today and have a mother/son day. It was much needed since I worked all weekend! We started the morning off by going to the Mandeville Bake Shop to eat donuts and muffins. Gavin's favorite is the chocolate muffin and mini sprinkled donuts. We then headed to New Orleans to spend the day at the Children's Museum and then lunch with Daddy at his work. Gavin said he wanted a "fun place" so this is what we chose since we have never been there. He slept the whole car ride back. I'm sure all the excitement wore him out but he also woke up at 6:30 this morning! Every morning, we wake up to "Mommyyyyyyyy the sun's awakeeeee!" This morning was definetly a little more earlier than other days.

Halloween

We were so excited to have Gavin come home on Sunday! We missed our little man. Just having him gone for a week seems like he has changed a lot. He is growing up so fast! We all will be heading to Kentucky for Thanksgiving...yay...we cannot wait!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We carved pumpkins the night Gavin came home....well I should actually say Andrew and my Dad did, haha. Gavin wasn't too interested in getting his hands dirty. He didn't like the slimy feel of the insides of the pumpkins. Oh well, maybe next year. But he did enjoy sitting for a few minutes on his Daddy's lap to carve some of it. So we made it into a fun contest and sorry Dad, but Andrew won! That may have been my mistake because I made my Dad carve out all the permanent marker that was on the pumpkin where my Dad had drawn out what he was going to carve. Whoops. His pumpkin did have teeth but since there was permanent marker all over I suggested that it would probably look better if he got rid of it. It was still a good lookin' pumpkin.

On Halloween, we went trick or treating but it didn't last too long. Gavin didn't want to wait until we got home to eat the candy, so going to a few houses was enough for him. Next year I think he'll understand that the more houses you go to the more candy you'll get!
